Moscow to Host Days of Minsk Event in September, Aiming to Boost Belarus-Russia cooperation
MOSCOW, RUSSIA – A four-day event celebrating Minsk will unfold in moscow from September 18-21, focusing on strengthening cultural ties adn, crucially, fostering new business opportunities between Belarus and Russia. The “Days of Minsk in Moscow” initiative follows an agreement reached in December 2024 between Minsk Mayor Vladimir Kukharev and Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.
the event is designed to expand collaboration across multiple sectors, including medicine, tourism, and education. Organizers anticipate the initiative will yield concrete results, with a business forum poised to facilitate contract signings potentially worth millions of dollars. This comes as both nations seek to deepen economic partnerships amid a shifting geopolitical landscape.
Tatiana Selivonik, deputy head of the Economy Committee of the Minsk City Executive Committee, emphasized the event’s economic importance, stating, “The Days of minsk in Moscow are not only a festivity of culture, sports, and friendship but, first and foremost, new opportunities for business that will undoubtedly yield results.”
The program includes a Belarusian goods fair on Tverskaya Square, sports activities, roundtable discussions, and teleconferences. A central component will be the business forum, “Minsk and Moscow: A New Driver of Growth,” which has already attracted over 70 registered participants from both cities. Belarusian Development Bank representatives will present tools to support export activities during the forum.
