Minot State University’s hockey programs continue to demonstrate national prominence, holding steady at No. 3 in the ACHA Division I men’s poll and No.4 in the ACHA women’s poll, rankings released this week.The Beavers’ consistent performance underscores their position among the nation’s elite collegiate hockey teams and sets the stage for key upcoming matchups.
These rankings reflect recent successes: the men’s team (9-1-0 6-1-1 MCH) secured two wins against Jamestown at the Maysa Arena,while the women’s team (6-3-5,4-3-1 WMCH) achieved a pair of road victories over the same opponent. Maintaining these positions is crucial as both teams navigate competitive schedules and strive for postseason success.
The men’s poll sees Niagara (N.Y.) at No. 1, followed by Ohio at No. 2, wiht Minot State holding firm at No. 3. Liberty (Va.) climbed to No. 4,and Adrian (Mich.) is ranked No.5. In the women’s poll, Liberty remains at the top, followed by Midland at No. 2, McKendree (Ill.) at No. 3, and Minot State at No. 4, with Maryville (Mo.) rounding out the top five.
Minot State’s in-state rivals, Jamestown and Mary, are also represented in the polls, with Jamestown at No. 9 in the men’s poll and No. 11 in the women’s, and Mary at No. 11 in the men’s poll.
Looking ahead, the No. 3-ranked men’s team will compete in the ACHA Showcase in Chicago, Illinois, facing No. 8 UNLV, No. 17 Utah, and Arizona State. Simultaneously, the No. 4-ranked women’s team will host no. 1 and undefeated Liberty for two games at the Maysa Arena this Friday and Saturday, with puck-drop scheduled for 3:45 p.m. each day.
