Milwaukee, WI – milwaukee Police Department (MPD) officers are currently investigating three separate shooting incidents that occurred on Friday, January 9, 2026, resulting in multiple injuries and ongoing investigations. Double Shooting on North 17th Street
The first incident occurred at approximately 5:30 p.m. on the 3400 block of N. 17th Street. Preliminary investigations indicate that suspects fired shots into a vehicle, striking two individuals. A 43-year-old victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-fatal injuries. The second victim, a 49-year-old, sustained life-threatening injuries and is also receiving medical care. Police are actively seeking unknown suspects in connection with this shooting.
Shooting on West Greenfield Avenue
Just minutes later, at approximately 5:35 p.m., officers responded to a shooting on the 1100 block of W. Greenfield Avenue. This incident involved an exchange of gunfire between individuals, and an uninvolved 37-year-old bystander was struck. The victim was transported to a hospital with non-fatal injuries.As with the first incident, the suspects remain at large, and the MPD is requesting public assistance.
