Intercorp Rolls Out Mifarma Prime, Eyes Expansion to Inkafarma
LIMA, peru – Intercorp has launched Mifarma Prime, a new service aimed at a consumer base seeking integrated health and wellness solutions, and is simultaneously piloting similar formats for its Inkafarma brand, the company announced today. The move signals Intercorp’s commitment to evolving its pharmaceutical offerings to meet changing consumer demands in Peru.
Mifarma Prime is targeted towards an “informed and increasingly demanding consumer” spanning Generation Z, young adults, and families, according to the company. It focuses on providing comprehensive solutions in skincare and overall well-being, catering to a desire for “interactive experiences and brands aligned with their lifestyle.”
while details of the Inkafarma model remain under progress, Intercorp confirmed it is indeed conducting pilot tests to explore similar modernization strategies. “We would like Inkafarma also to have this modernity, because basically the two brands should develop thinking about the new needs that consumers have,” a company representative stated.
Intercorp aims to solidify Mifarma’s position as a leading pharmacy chain in Peru, emphasizing its role in providing access to health and expert advice. Currently, both Mifarma and Inkafarma operate exclusively within the Peruvian market, with no immediate plans for international expansion. The company prioritizes continued innovation and strengthening its domestic leadership, while monitoring international best practices for potential adaptation.
The launch comes amid ongoing market analysis following recent events impacting other retail brands within the Intercorp portfolio, such as Real Plaza, whose parent company Inretail is navigating recovery after the tragedy in Trujillo.
