Microsoft Launches “Microsoft 365 Premium” – Superseding Copilot Pro with Expanded AI Features
TOKYO – Microsoft has today announced the availability of “Microsoft 365 Premium,” a new subscription plan aimed at households,priced at 32,000 yen per year (tax included). The launch together marks the discontinuation of “Copilot Pro,” with existing subscribers offered a seamless migration path to the new Premium tier.
Microsoft 365 Premium is designed for 1-6 users adn provides access to Microsoft 365 apps – including PC,Mac,iPhone,iPad,Android smartphone,and tablet compatibility – for up to five devices per user. A key differentiator is its enhanced AI capabilities, building upon the features of Copilot Pro and adding new functionalities. The plan includes up to 6TB of secure cloud storage (1TB per user), and exclusive ”Copilot” functionality for Premium subscribers.
The new plan boasts advanced AI tools including access to the “Researcher” and “analyst” reasoning agents, the new Photos Agent within the Microsoft 365 Copilot app, and AI-powered image generation and editing thru ”Microsoft Designer.” Users also gain access to unique filters and effects within the “Clipchamp” video editor, alongside advanced security features provided by “Microsoft Defender,” including ransomware prevention for files and photos stored in “OneDrive.”
Microsoft states that Premium subscribers will benefit from more extensive usage limits for AI features compared to other plans.Support is also included with the subscription. Existing Microsoft 365 Personal/Family subscribers with Copilot Pro can migrate to Microsoft 365 Premium while retaining existing features and realizing cost savings.
