Michał Probierz Emerges as Leading Candidate for Kazakhstan national Team Head Coach
Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan – Former Poland national team manager Michał Probierz is a frontrunner to become teh next head coach of the Kazakhstan national football team, according to reports from Kazakh media outlet Aladop.KZ. The appointment would mark a swift return to international management for Probierz, who recently departed his role with Poland.
Kazakhstan is currently seeking a permanent replacement for Ali Aliev, who was relieved of his duties following recent defeats to Wales (0-1) and Belgium (0-6) in September. Aliev had initially served as an interim manager earlier in the year before being given a longer-term opportunity that ultimately proved unsuccessful. Talgat Bajsfinov is currently serving as caretaker coach.
Probierz faces competition for the position from two experienced managers: Janne Andersson, who coached Sweden from 2016 to 2023, and Massimo Carrera, whose previous roles include managing Ascoli, Bari, AEK Athens, and Spartak Moscow.
Kazakhstan currently occupies a challenging position in their euro qualifying group, holding three points after five matches.Their sole victory came against Liechtenstein (2-0). They remain in contention alongside Wales, Belgium, and North Macedonia.
The Kazakhstan Football Federation is hoping a new coach can revitalize the national team’s performance and improve their prospects for qualification.
