Miami Police Search for Suspect in $6,300 Credit Card Fraud Case
MIAMI – South Miami Police are investigating a woman accused of fraudulently charging over $6,300 to a credit card stolen from a local business. The purchases were made over six days,between August 22nd and August 27th,at numerous stores across Miami-dade and Broward counties.
The stolen card belonged to Gleam Hair Studio, located at 7301 Southwest 57th Court in Miami. Salon owner Milanie Boyer discovered the fraudulent charges while reviewing the business’s bank statements. “I feel taken advantage of,” Boyer said. She explained the card was a replacement for one previously compromised by fraud.
Investigators say the suspect made purchases at a variety of retailers, including Dollar General, Target, Walmart, Best Buy, and BJ’s Wholesale Club, acquiring items such as AirPods and clothing, and also paying for gas.
“She knew to conceal herself by using the medical mask,” stated South miami Police Detective Jackie Del Sol. “She’s also wearing it truly seems like the same type of clothing on most of the days.”
Police describe the suspect as a woman in her mid-30s to early 40s, driving a dark-colored Buick Encore.
