Dominik Mysterio lost the WWE Intercontinental Championship to Dragon Lee on Monday night in Indianapolis, Indiana, marking a historic moment as Lee became the first Mexican-born wrestler in Mexico to win a title within WWE. The victory took place during the March 2nd edition of Monday Night Raw at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

The match concluded a recent rivalry between the two wrestlers, which began with a battle for the NXT North American Title last year, where Lee dethroned Mysterio at NXT Deadline 2023. Both competitors recently participated in the Intercontinental Title Number One Contender’s Tournament, ultimately losing to Ilja Dragunov in a Triple Threat Match, setting the stage for their direct confrontation on Raw.

The event similarly featured a match between Gunther and Dragon Lee, with Gunther emerging victorious by submission. In another bout, American Jimmy Uso defeated Austin Theory by disqualification. El Grande Americano defeated Rayo Americano, who was accompanied by Bravo Americano and another version of El Grande Americano.

The Raw event followed the recent Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event, where CM Punk retained the World Heavyweight Championship. The build-up to WrestleMania 42 is underway, with Roman Reigns also present at the Raw event, anticipating a potential clash with Punk in Las Vegas.

Elsewhere on the card, Dominik Mysterio also defended his Intercontinental Championship against Penta. Seth Rollins’s return at Elimination Chamber, interfering in Logan Paul’s match, was also addressed by General Manager Adam Pearce, who promised to address the situation. AJ Lee, recently crowned Women’s Intercontinental Champion, was also present at the event. Rhea Ripley, Becky Lynch and LA Knight were also advertised for the show.
