Konami has removed Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker HD from the Xbox Games Store, a move occurring shortly before the scheduled release of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Volume 2 on August 27, 2026. The removal, first noted by fans, signals a shift in Konami’s digital distribution strategy for the franchise.

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Volume 2 is slated for release on PlayStation 5, according to a PlayStation.Blog post, and will be available in both physical and digital formats. Pre-orders for the collection began today, February 16, 2026. The collection itself has been met with some criticism, with PC Gamer noting that while Konami “got the main thing right,” the offering could be more comprehensive.

Notably, the upcoming collection will not include Metal Gear Online, the multiplayer component of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, as reported by IGN. This omission has drawn attention from fans anticipating a complete compilation of the series. The absence of Peace Walker HD from the Xbox Store adds to the discussion surrounding the scope and content of the Master Collection Volume 2.

Konami Group Corporation has not issued a statement explaining the removal of Peace Walker HD from the Xbox marketplace. The timing of the delisting suggests a deliberate strategy to consolidate availability of Metal Gear Solid titles around the launch of the recent collection.
