Mendoza Police Seize⁤ Firearms, Drugs, and Cash in Coordinated Raids

Mendoza Province law enforcement officials executed a⁢ series⁢ of raids‌ across Guaymallén on August 30, 2025,​ resulting in the ⁢arrest of four suspects and the confiscation of multiple firearms, significant quantities of narcotics, and over 570,000 pesos ⁢in cash. ‍The⁢ operations targeted individuals involved ‍in aggravated robbery and drug trafficking, with one case also linked to ‍an evaded suspect from the‌ 25th police station.

These coordinated efforts underscore a heightened⁣ focus on combating violent crime ‍and the ​illicit drug trade within the Mendoza metropolitan area.The seizures represent a considerable disruption to criminal networks​ operating in the region and signal an ongoing commitment to public safety. ⁣Investigations are ‍continuing, with the federal justice system now handling the drug-related aspects of the case.

Initial​ Raids Yield Multiple Firearms

The first operation, conducted in an undisclosed location, led to the seizure of a diverse array of weapons.Authorities recovered a 9 mm pistol​ with​ a charger containing 12 cartridges, a 22-caliber handgun with altered serial numbers,⁢ and a ‌revolver⁣ of the same ⁤caliber. A non-functional metal replica firearm was also confiscated, along with more than 20 rounds of ammunition of varying calibers. During the raid, one ‍suspect attempted⁢ to flee, discarding a weapon before being apprehended a short distance away.

Guaymallén Targeted in Separate Operations

A⁢ second series of raids in Guaymallén focused on locating an ⁣individual who had evaded authorities from the 25th police station and investigating a case of aggravated robbery. ​ Troops from the local investigative unit searched four residences, resulting in the arrest of two men and the seizure of a‌ 22-caliber pistol with a charger, cartridges, and a spent casing.

Drug Trafficking Operation Uncovered

The third intervention occurred at a residence ⁤on Olascoaga ⁢Street in Guaymallén, stemming⁢ from an ⁣investigation into an attempted aggravated robbery within the city. This search led to the apprehension​ of two additional suspects and the discovery​ of⁢ a significant drug cache.⁤ Police seized 554.9 grams ‌of cocaine, 17.4 grams of marijuana, and 3.54 grams ⁢of cannabis buds. Also recovered were a⁢ precision scale, drug packaging materials, and ‌570,000 pesos in cash. Due⁣ to the quantity and nature of the‍ narcotics, the case has been transferred to federal jurisdiction.
