Meghan Markle to Co-Host Junior MasterChef Australia in 2027
“I had an incredible time with the whole team at MasterChef this past April, so when they approached me to come back and work with this young group of talent, it was an easy yes,” the Duchess of Sussex said in a statement.
Meghan is set to co-host Junior MasterChef Australia in 2027, returning to Network 10 after her appearance on the adult version of the cooking competition drew the broadcaster’s largest Sunday audience since 2023.
Melbourne Production and the Return to Australia
Production for the children’s spin-off will take place at Melbourne Showgrounds over a multi-week stretch early to mid-next year, as reported by News.com.au. The series marks a revival for the format, returning to screens six years after its previous season. Network 10 confirmed that Meghan will co-host alongside current MasterChef Australia judge Poh Ling Yeow, who will also remain on the adult show in 2027.
“I had a lovely time filming with Meghan earlier this year, and being reunited will be a real treat,” Yeow said in a statement. “I can’t wait to meet our pint-sized culinary adventurers.”
The extended stay in Victoria suggests Prince Harry, Prince Archie (7), and Princess Lilibet (5) might join her for the duration of the shoot. Insiders told News.com.au that while no final decision has been made, the family recently relocated back to the United Kingdom in August after living in California for six years, and are exploring flexible international living arrangements.
Behind-the-Scenes Friction and Previous Appearances
The upcoming co-hosting role follows a four-day visit to Australia in April, during which Meghan quietly filmed a guest spot on the main MasterChef Australia series at the Melbourne Showgrounds. According to reporting by News.com.au, that guest appearance included a moment of tension behind the scenes when Meghan and her team discovered how she was introduced on air.
As judge Poh Ling Yeow welcomed her to the kitchen by announcing her as “The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle,” sources close to production revealed that Meghan’s camp was frustrated by the use of the title. Her representatives had reportedly made it clear ahead of time that they preferred the word royal not be used in the promotional rollout.
Despite the behind-the-scenes friction during her April visit, viewers responded positively to her guest spot. The broadcast also coincided with reports regarding her lifestyle series, With Love, Meghan, which ran for two seasons on Netflix and drew 5.3 million global views in the first half of 2025 before reports emerged that it would not return for a third season.

Thomas Markle Sr Denies Child Abuse Image Allegations
The television announcement comes during the same week Meghan addressed separate, distressing developments concerning her estranged father, Thomas Markle Sr. Last week, her half-brother, Thomas Markle Jr., reported to authorities in the Philippines that he had discovered hundreds or thousands of child sexual abuse images stored in boxes at his father’s former home in Cebu.
