Mediterranean Dialogues: Middle East Focus, Italy & Key Ministers Attend

Mediterranean Dialogues launch in naples, Focus on Post-Ceasefire Middle East

Naples, Italy – the eleventh edition of the‍ Mediterranean ⁣Dialogues⁢ opened today in ‍Naples, marking the first time the annual event, ‍organized‌ by ISPI and the​ Italian Ministry ​of‌ Foreign Affairs, is held in the city. The​ conference ‌is placing a important focus on ⁣the evolving situation in the Middle East,highlighted ⁣by the participation⁤ of both‍ Palestinian National Authority Foreign Minister ⁢Varsen ​Aghabekian and ⁣Israeli Minister ⁣Gideon ‍Sa’ar. Both ministers‌ are scheduled too participate ‍in ⁤separate panels and ‍will⁣ be welcomed by ⁢Italian Foreign ‌Minister antonio⁢ Tajani.

A central‌ question driving discussions is “After Sharm el⁢ Sheikh,a ⁣new Middle East?” – referencing the recent ⁢ceasefire agreement between Hamas⁣ and Israel signed ⁣in ⁢the Egyptian​ resort ⁤town,attended by⁢ former U.S. President Donald Trump⁢ and other international leaders.Tajani will⁤ officially open this key​ session ⁣this‌ afternoon, following a message from Italian President Sergio‍ Mattarella, alongside⁢ Aghabekian and Iraqi Minister Fuad hussein.

the conference kicked off this morning with participation from representatives of Qatar,‌ the United Arab emirates, ​Greece, Egypt, ⁣and‍ countries in the ⁢Western Balkans. Tajani will also engage with these representatives in⁤ an afternoon panel​ discussion titled “Strengthening international diplomacy: the role of the Adriatic-Balkans region.”

The three-day‌ event boasts ​portrayal from over 40 countries, with more than 300⁤ experts contributing ⁣to 60 work sessions, and anticipates over 10,000 participants both in-person ⁤and online.
