Mayweather vs. Pacquiao 2 & Potential Tyson Fight: Boxing Comebacks Confirmed

Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao will meet in a rematch of their 2015 “Fight of the Century” at The Sphere in Las Vegas this September, organizers announced on Tuesday. The bout, confirmed by both fighters, will be streamed globally on Netflix, marking the first professional boxing event held at the newly opened venue.

The announcement ends years of speculation regarding a potential second encounter between the two boxing icons. Mayweather, who retired with a perfect 50-0 record including 27 knockouts, defeated Pacquiao by unanimous decision in their first fight. That 2015 match generated 4.6 million pay-per-view buys and $72 million in live gate revenue at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, according to reports.

“I’ve been in the ring with Manny before, I beat him once,” Mayweather said in a statement. No further details regarding the fight’s structure or weight class were immediately available.

This rematch represents a return to professional boxing for Mayweather, who last competed in a professional bout in August 2017, defeating Conor McGregor. Prior to the Pacquiao fight, Mayweather is scheduled for an exhibition match this spring against Mike Tyson, though the date and location remain unconfirmed.

Pacquiao, 47, also returns to the ring after a foray into politics, having lost the 2022 presidential election in the Philippines to Bongbong Marcos. He resumed his boxing career in July 2025, fighting to a majority draw against Mario Barrios. The upcoming fight with Mayweather will be a significant test for Pacquiao as he continues his boxing comeback.

The decision to stream the fight on Netflix signals the platform’s growing investment in live sports broadcasting, providing the event with a global reach.
