Masters of the Universe: Mattel Expands Publishing Program for New Film

Mattel is preparing a comprehensive rollout of Masters of the Universe toys and action figures in advance of the film’s theatrical debut on June 5, 2026, with products slated to hit retail shelves beginning April 25, 2026. The company unveiled details of the new line, including multiple tiers of action figures and role-playing items, at New York Toy Fair 2026.

The new toy line features figures designed at a 5.5-inch scale, intended as a more accessible option for younger fans compared to Mattel’s collector-focused Masters of the Universe offerings. The “Masters of the Universe Core Kids Assortment” will include figures of He-Man, Skeletor, Teela, Beast-Man, and Skel-Knight, each with 14 points of articulation and a suggested retail price of $10.79. A second tier, the “Masters of the Universe Kids Feature Assortment,” will feature He-Man with a Power Sword and Skeletor with a Havoc Staff, priced at $16.19.

Beyond the core action figure lines, Mattel is too releasing accessory vehicles and role-playing toys. These include a Battle Cat feature action figure ($21.59), the Roton Assault Vehicle ($37.79), a Skeletor Talking Mask ($21.59), and a Power Sword replica ($43.19). The company also plans to release figures inspired by the 1980s She-Ra: Princess of Power series, including She-Ra and Hordak, as part of the Masters of the Universe Origins line, celebrating the 40th anniversary of the cartoon. These figures, priced at $17.99, feature vintage aesthetics combined with modern posability, offering 16 points of articulation and include accessories related to specific episodes of the original series.

Mattel’s product reveal at New York Toy Fair 2025 included details on the Masters of the Universe Origins Fright Zone Playset, though specific information about the set was not disclosed. The company is also continuing its Origins and Masterverse lines, alongside the new cartoon series figures. Mattel Creations will offer premium collectibles, limited releases, and expanded character exploration within the Masters of the Universe collections.

The film stars Nicholas Galitzine as He-Man and Jared Leto as Skeletor.
