A persistent nor’easter continued drenching Massachusetts, with the National Weather Service reporting rainfall totals exceeding 5 inches in several communities by Sunday morning. New Bedford recorded the highest statewide total at 6.47 inches as of 7 a.m., while heavy downpours triggered flood warnings across Barnstable, Bristol, Dukes, Nantucket, Norfolk, and Plymouth counties.
New Bedford and Bristol County Totals Surge
New Bedford led all municipal measurements across the state, logging 6.47 inches by Sunday morning. Nearby Fairhaven recorded 4.48 inches, Westport hit 4.46 inches, Raynham measured 4.44 inches, and Easton registered 4.24 inches. Additional totals in the county included Norton at 3.90 inches, Dighton at 3.85 inches, Berkley at 3.42 inches, Dartmouth at 3.38 inches, Somerset at 3.36 inches, Acushnet at 3.25 inches, Swansea at 2.45 inches, New Bedford Airport at 2.33 inches, and Attleboro at 2.13 inches.
Cape Cod and Barnstable County Rainfall Measurements
Falmouth recorded the highest total in the county at 5.15 inches. Camp Edwards followed closely with 4.84 inches, while Mashpee picked up 4.39 inches and Bourne reached 3.92 inches.
Additional measurements across Cape Cod included Woods Hole at 3.83 inches, East Falmouth at 3.81 inches, Pocasset at 3.46 inches, East Sandwich at 3.20 inches, Centerville at 2.91 inches, Osterville at 2.90 inches, and Barnstable at 2.76 inches. Lower totals were logged further down the Cape, with Orleans at 2.23 inches, Brewster at 2.07 inches, Hyannis at 2.03 inches, Hyannis Airport at 1.74 inches, South Dennis at 1.68 inches, Harwich at 1.56 inches, Dennis at 1.50 inches, Chatham Airport at 1.26 inches, and Chatham at 1.13 inches.

In Suffolk County, Boston proper received 2.56 inches of rain by Sunday morning. Brighton recorded 2.05 inches, Allston logged 1.71 inches, Winthrop hit 1.59 inches, Logan Airport registered 1.50 inches, and Fenway Park measured 1.49 inches.
Inland Accumulations Across Middlesex, Essex, and Worcester Counties
Holliston recorded 2.58 inches, Framingham hit 1.97 inches, Sherborn measured 1.91 inches, Newton reached 1.78 inches, and Natick logged 1.72 inches. Cambridge measured 1.44 inches, Watertown hit 1.42 inches, Somerville recorded 1.36 inches, Hopkinton logged 1.28 inches, Marlborough hit 1.26 inches, Weston measured 1.09 inches, Melrose reached 1.06 inches, and additional light totals fell across remaining northern towns.
Essex County remained on the lower end of the statewide spectrum, with Newburyport topping the area at 1.90 inches. Hamilton recorded 1.45 inches, Groveland and Danvers both logged 1.40 inches, Merrimac hit 1.36 inches, Amesbury measured 1.28 inches, and Haverhill recorded 1.25 inches.
