Maryland Crash: Vehicle Hits Building, Injures Elderly Woman

Vehicle Strikes Building, Injuring⁣ Elderly Woman in Calvert County

PRINCE FREDERICK,⁢ MD – An ⁢88-year-old woman was hospitalized Monday morning after ⁣a Toyota camry crashed into a building‌ and struck her in the‌ 300-business block of Market Square in Calvert County.The incident is under investigation‌ by the maryland State Police crash​ Team.

The woman was‌ seated inside the building when ‍the vehicle left its parking space,mounted a ‍curb,and collided with the structure,striking her. She ‍was⁤ transported by ‍ambulance to the University​ of Maryland⁤ Capital Regional ⁣Medical Center ⁢for treatment. The driver, an ⁢84-year-old man, was uninjured.

Maryland State ⁤Police troopers responded to the scene⁢ at approximately 10:29⁣ a.m. A preliminary investigation indicates the driver was parked in front of the business when, for reasons currently​ unknown, the Camry accelerated forward.
