Marshall Amplifies Home Audio with New, Repairable Soundbar & Subwoofer
New York, NY – September 19, 2024 - Marshall, best known for its iconic amplifiers, is entering the premium home audio market with the Heston 60 soundbar and Heston Sub 200 subwoofer, both boasting a mid-century modern aesthetic and a focus on repairability – a rarity in today’s consumer electronics landscape. The new products, launching September 23rd, aim to deliver high-fidelity sound with a design that would appeal to even the most discerning audiophile, or advertising executive.
The Heston 60 distinguishes itself with versatile mounting options, utilizing waveguides and angled drivers for wall or TV stand placement. A reversible control panel and magnetic Marshall logo further customize the soundbar’s orientation. However, perhaps the most notable feature is Marshall’s commitment to longevity: the Heston 60 is designed with replaceable parts, including the speaker grill (“fret”), end caps, drivers, and circuit boards, addressing the growing concern of electronic waste and planned obsolescence.
Connectivity options include HDMI 2.1 eARC, a 3.5mm jack, and Bluetooth 5.3, alongside compatibility with AirPlay 2, Google Cast, Spotify Connect, and Tidal Connect. The soundbar also features dedicated sound modes – Music, Movie, Voice, and Night – with the latter designed to reduce loud sound effects and maintain clear dialog for late-night listening.
Complementing the Heston 60 is the Heston Sub 200, a wireless subwoofer mirroring the soundbar’s design language and repairable components. The subwoofer is also compatible with Marshall’s existing Heston 120 soundbar.
Both the Heston 60 and Heston Sub 200 will be available for purchase starting September 23rd, priced at $699 and $599 respectively.
