The frist episode addresses “the avoidance strategy,” explaining why teens sabotage themselves.This can stem from fear of disappointing others, low self-esteem, or negative experiences. They might sabotage themselves by not trying, forgetting important items, or feeling inadequate.

Mesguich shares an example of a student who, terrified of his French baccalaureate, unconsciously attempted to get arrested to avoid the test. He was not a criminal, but a boy caught in panic, committing the irreparable in the face of an insurmountable deadline.

A poorly closed door, poorly smoothed hair, a student who didn’t say hello.Words like “bac,” “screens.” Sentences like “Have you revised?”, “Did you take notes?”. Attitudes, a look.”All this are ‘stressors’,” explains Mesguich. She quotes one of her students who couldn’t work as a stain on the walls “blocked his head.”
