Marie Ducruet: her wedding dress imagined with Pauline Ducruet

Marie Ducruet’s Dream Dress Crafted by Sister-in-Law Pauline

A Personal Touch for Royal Nuptials

The wedding of Marie and Louis Ducruet saw a deeply personal touch in the bride’s attire, a testament to family bonds. Marie turned to her sister-in-law, Pauline Ducruet, to design her dream gown.

Sisterly Collaboration on Haute Couture

Pauline Ducruet, who founded her fashion brand Alter Designs in 2018, embraced the significant project of creating a wedding dress. To realize this vision, she partnered with L’Atelier Boisanger, a house renowned for such specialized creations.

“She worked for Rabih Kayrouz for three months, we met at that time! Our bonds of friendship have been forged and we have never really lost sight of each other since despite the distance since she then returned to New York to continue her career and launch her Alter ready-to-wear brand. When she called me to tell me about the wedding of her sister-in-law that she loves very much with her brother Louis and that she offered to create the dress, I was really excited!”

The collaborative effort involved meticulous craftsmanship over six to eight months. The resulting haute couture piece featured silk zagar, detailed embroidery, Calais and Chantilly lace, and a striking five-meter veil, all meticulously handled by Victoria de Boisanger.

A Lasting Impression

Marie‘s entrance into the Cathedral of Notre-Dame-Immaculée de Monaco, escorted by her brother Bertrand Chevallier, captivated onlookers. Pauline Ducruet‘s careful attention ensured every detail of the immaculate gown was perfectly presented.

The design, a luxurious blend of tradition and personal style, echoed the elegance often seen in royal fashion. In 2019, the global fashion industry generated over $1.5 trillion in revenue, highlighting the significant economic and cultural impact of design houses like Alter Designs and L’Atelier Boisanger (Source: McKinsey & Company). The creation for Marie remains a memorable example of familial dedication in luxury fashion.
