San ​Antonio’s Mardi Gras Madness Races Offer immediate ‌Awards & Volunteer opportunities

SAN ANTONIO, ​TXBigfoot Running Company’s Mardi Gras Madness races in San Antonio promise a unique race experience⁣ with immediate award announcements ⁤and a festive ​atmosphere, organizers announced‌ today. The event, ⁤embracing the spirit of Mardi Gras, offers both running and volunteer options for participants.

Runners completing the⁣ 5K or 10K will have their‍ names announced⁢ and receive their awards ‌promptly following the race, allowing for instant celebration ⁤- whether ​cheering on fellow runners or enjoying a post-race⁤ brunch.

Bigfoot ‌Running Company is also⁣ seeking⁣ volunteers to help with various roles, including water stations, course monitoring, ‌finish ⁣line assistance, and⁣ more. Volunteers can choose between a​ “Volunteer then Run” option (limited to ⁢the frist 10 signups) for the⁤ 5K,or a “Full Race Volunteer” ‌role,which does not include running. ⁣

Full ‌Race Volunteers will receive a Bigfoot race shirt, ​VIP access, and a choice ⁣between free entry ‍to a future race⁣ or a‍ $20 ‍prepaid digital gift card. Specific volunteer roles include: ‍Water Station ⁣Krewe, Course Monitor Parade Captain, Finish line Helper, Turtle/Sweeper, Packet Pickup /⁤ results Tent, ‍Floater, Lead bike, and Bigfoot Mascot. All volunteers are asked to arrive 1.5 hours before the start time and⁤ check in at the Registration Tent.

The event will proceed rain or shine, and packet pickup is always offered 1.5 hours‌ before the race start. Additional packet pickup​ dates,if scheduled,will be​ communicated via email to registered participants at‍ least one week prior.⁢

Courses are​ typically held⁣ at parks and⁢ greenbelts, with runners anticipating ​a mix of paved trails, crushed granite,‌ and potentially some dirt paths.
