Crime Reporter John van den Heuvel Discusses marco Borsato Lawsuit and Family’s Absence
Crime reporter John van den Heuvel discussed the upcoming lawsuit against singer Marco Borsato on a morning radio show hosted by Gordon and Froukje de Both. The conversation centered on reports from Privé indicating Borsato will appear in court alone, without the support of his family.
Van den Heuvel stated he understood Borsato’s decision, suggesting the singer may have requested his wife, Leontien, not attend. “Details will be discussed that are not very nice to hear, not even as a close relative or ex-partner,” he explained, anticipating sensitive testimony during the October 28th and 30th hearings.
The reporter then outlined the charges against Borsato, stating he is accused of indecent acts with a minor over a prolonged period. He noted the allegations stem from entries in a diary kept by the alleged victim, which was later discovered by her mother.
When questioned about his involvement, Van den Heuvel clarified he is not directly supporting the alleged victim, but had offered advice to her and her mother regarding the decision to file a report, acknowledging the potential for meaningful public attention.
The discussion also touched upon reports of a potential taped confession from Borsato regarding the alleged acts. Van den Heuvel confirmed he had inquired about the existence of such a tape during conversations with the alleged victim, recognizing its potential to severely damage the singer’s reputation. He indicated further details regarding the tape would be discussed the following week.
Van den Heuvel also provided further analysis of the case during an appearance on RTL tonight, a video of which is available for viewing.
