Peter Mandelson Described Jeffrey Epstein as ‘My Best Pal’ in Newly Released Birthday Letter
Washington D.C. – A newly published birthday book reveals that Lord peter Mandelson, a senior figure in British politics, referred to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein as “my best pal” in a letter written to mark Epstein’s 50th birthday in 2005. Teh letter is among materials released Monday by the House oversight committee after obtaining them through a subpoena and urging from Democratic representatives.
The birthday book, compiled for Epstein, contained messages from a range of high-profile individuals, including former US President Bill Clinton. Its release follows a 2019 internal report by JP Morgan bank, filed to a New York court, which found Epstein maintained a “especially close relationship” with Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, and Mandelson.
Epstein died by suicide in August 2019 while awaiting trial on sex-trafficking charges. The materials were turned over to the committee by Epstein’s estate at the request of Republican chair James Comer and Democratic representatives Sylvia Garcia and Ro Khanna.
