Man Dragged 20km on Car Hood After Road Rage Incident in Ankara

A driver’s education instructor in Ankara, Turkey, is in police custody after allegedly driving a vehicle for approximately 20 kilometers with a man on the hood, according to reports from Turkish media outlets.

The incident began following a dispute between C.Ö., a 57-year-vintage driving instructor and retired police officer, and İ.Ç., the driver of another vehicle, on Bağlıca Boulevard in the Yeni Bağlıca neighborhood of Etimesgut district at around 4:00 PM local time on February 22, 2026, according to TRT Haber and Cumhuriyet. The cause of the initial argument remains unknown.

The altercation escalated into a physical fight, with both men reportedly striking each other. After bystanders intervened to break up the fight, C.Ö. Got into his driving school car and attempted to abandon the scene. İ.Ç. Then climbed onto the hood of the vehicle, apparently trying to prevent C.Ö. From driving away, Cumhuriyet reported.

Despite attempts by other drivers to stop him by cutting in front of his car and using their horns, C.Ö. Continued driving with İ.Ç. On the hood for roughly 20 kilometers, according to multiple reports including an Instagram post. He was eventually apprehended at a police checkpoint on Istanbul Road.

C.Ö. Is currently in police custody and is scheduled to be brought before a court tomorrow, February 23, 2026, according to reports. An investigation into the incident has been launched.
