Man (40s) charged after OAP killed in fatal Co Meath hit and run

A man in his 40s has been charged in connection with the death of‍ an elderly pedestrian following a hit-and-run collision ‌in County Meath, Ireland. The incident occurred on Friday, September 12th, ‌in the Batterstown/Ballivor area.

The victim, an older adult male, sustained fatal ⁣injuries after being struck by ⁤a vehicle.Gardaí (Irish police) responded to the scene and launched an investigation, ⁣appealing to the‌ public for assistance. The case highlights ongoing ​concerns regarding road safety and pedestrian vulnerability,especially in rural areas. Investigations are ongoing, and the charged man⁤ is‍ expected to appear before the courts.

Investigating officers at Trim Garda Station are specifically requesting footage from ⁤road users who travelled through Batterstown and Ballivor between 9:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. on ‌the day of the incident. This includes dashcam recordings and any other available camera footage.
