Macy’s Announces Closure of 66 Stores, Including Five in NYC, as Part of Bold New Chapter Strategy
New York City’s iconic New York State and five in New York City. This move is part of the company’s
“Closing any store is never easy, but as part of our Bold New Chapter strategy, we are closing underproductive Macy’s stores to allow us to focus our resources and prioritize investments in our go-forward stores, where customers are already responding positively to better product offerings and elevated service,” said Tony Spring, chairman and CEO of Macy’s Inc., in a statement.
Which New York Macy’s locations Are Closing?
The closures will impact several New York locations, including five in NYC:
- Queens Place Macy’s in Elmhurst
- Brooklyn’s Sheepshead Bay and Fulton Street locations
- Staten island Furniture store
- Fordham Place in the Bronx
