Mark your calendars! The highly anticipated animated film adaptation of The Lunar Chronicles, Marissa Meyer’s best-selling sci-fi fairy tale series, is officially set to launch in theaters November 3, 2028.

Warner Bros. Animation Takes on Futuristic Fairy Tale

A second Collaboration

The Lunar Chronicles marks the second feature collaboration between Warner Bros. Pictures Animation and Locksmith Animation. Their first project, Bad Fairies, is slated for release in July 2027.

Sci-Fi Twist on Classic Tales

Meyer’s book series reimagines classic fairy tale characters within a sci-fi setting, amidst growing tensions between Earth and it’s former colony, Luna. The series began in 2012 with the release of Cinder. Plans for a movie adaptation were initially announced in 2019.
