NEW YORK CITY – The 63rd New York Film Festival launched with a star-studded premiere of Luca Guadagnino‘s “After the Hunt” on September 26, 2025, drawing luminaries including Julia Roberts, Andrew Garfield, and Ayo Edebiri to alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center. The film’s opening night gala marked a significant kickoff to the prestigious festival, signaling a season of anticipated cinematic releases and industry conversations.
“After the Hunt” captivated attendees before guests transitioned to an afterparty at Tavern on the Green. The film, which features a cast also including David Leiber, Will Price, Michael Stuhlbarg, and Lio Mehiel, is poised to generate awards season buzz. Its limited U.S. release is scheduled for October 10, expanding nationwide on October 17.
