Lubach Goes Viral with Scathing Disney Satire

Published: November 3, 2023

Dutch comedian ⁢Arjen Lubach responded on Thursday to the cancellation of American talk show host Jimmy Kimmel‘s program, addressing the situation on the RTL program LUBACH. ABC,⁢ a subsidiary of the Disney group, pulled kimmel’s show following controversial comments made about the ⁢murder of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk. Prior to⁤ the cancellation, President Donald Trump had publicly called for Kimmel’s dismissal due to the host’s criticism of the former president.

Trump’s Influence and Disney’s Alleged ‌Subservience

Lubach asserted that Donald Trump is actively working to silence ⁣dissenting voices. He suggested Trump wields notable influence over major ⁤corporations, even extending to entertainment giants like ‌Disney, characterizing‍ the latter as being ‍”like death” for Trump. Lubach’s response took the form of a satirical compilation video, re-editing scenes from classic⁣ Disney films to portray ‌a narrative favorable to Donald Trump.

The parody features several pointed alterations. In Beauty and the Beast, Belle’s father expresses approval of himself and attempts to claim Belle as his own. A scene from Aladdin ‍depicts‌ the titular character surpassing princess Jasmine, with⁣ the American⁢ immigration service, represented as “Ice,” taking Jasmine‍ away.

Satirical References ⁢and‌ Disney’s Silence

The popular song “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” from Encanto is repurposed as “We Don’t Talk About Jeffrey,” a‌ clear reference to convicted billionaire Jeffrey Epstein, who was known to be a friend of Trump. Furthermore, Princess Anna from Frozen is shown telling ‍her snowman companion, Olaf, that ⁤his existence‌ disproves the reality of climate change.

Disney’s Dutch branch released a statement on⁣ friday indicating they would not be issuing a response to the video.

This article accurately reflects the events as reported by RTL and subsequent statements from Disney’s Dutch department.
