Nicolas Cage Returns to the Arms Trade in Lords of War Sequel, Featuring Dutch Actress Sylvia Hoeks
Fifteen years after the release of the critically acclaimed Lord of War, Nicolas Cage is set to reprise his role as Yuri Orlov in a sequel, Lords of War. joining him are Bill Skarsgård, Sylvia Hoeks, and Greg Tarzan davis, wiht andrew Niccol returning to write and direct. Production is slated to begin later this month across locations in Belgium and Morocco.
The continuation of Orlov’s story arrives amidst ongoing global conflicts and a renewed focus on the international arms trade.The film explores the complex legacy of a notorious arms dealer and the emergence of a new generation vying for control, promising a tense and morally ambiguous thriller. Hoeks’ casting adds a Dutch perspective to the international production, broadening the film’s reach and appeal.
Lords of War centers on Yuri Orlov’s discovery of a son, Anton (Skarsgård), who isn’t interested in reforming his father’s illicit business, but rather exceeding it. Anton expands operations to include mercenary recruitment and supplying both weapons and “tractors” to conflicts in the Middle East, igniting a fraught, and surprisingly romantic, rivalry with his father.
Saturn Films,Cage’s production company,is among those producing the film,with Skarsgård also serving as an executive producer.
