Lola Young Cancels Tour, Festival Dates to Prioritize Health
British singer-songwriter Lola Young has canceled all upcoming performances, including her North American “Messy” headlining tour, to focus on her health. The announcement follows an onstage collapse at the All Things Go festival in New york over the weekend.
Young’s decision impacts fans holding tickets to a string of scheduled performances extending into next year, including 17 dates on her “Messy” tour set to run from November 1 in Toronto to December 6 at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles. This marks the latest disruption to the rising artist’s schedule, following a previously canceled New Jersey show attributed to mental-health concerns. The cancellations underscore the pressures faced by emerging musicians and the importance of prioritizing well-being amidst demanding touring schedules. Full refunds will be issued for all purchased tickets, and Young expressed hope for a return to performing after a period of self-care.
“I’m going away for a while,” Young wrote in a statement posted to Instagram. “It pains me to say I have to cancel everything for the foreseeable future.Thank you for all the love and support. I’m so sorry to let anyone down who has bought a ticket to see me, it hurts me more than you know.”
Prior to her collapse at All Things Go, Young had addressed her recent cancellation in New Jersey during her Saturday set, stating she’d “had a tricky couple of days.” She added, “Sometimes life can really make you feel like you can’t continue. but you know what? Today I woke up and I made the decision to come here, and I wanted to be cool. Sometimes life can throw you lemons, and you just gotta make lemonade.”
Young’s “Messy” tour was slated to begin November 1st in toronto and conclude December 6th at the Hollywood Palladium.
