Lola Young Cancels All Upcoming Shows, Citing Need to Focus on Health
Rising UK singer-songwriter Lola Young has canceled all of her scheduled performances “for the foreseeable future,” announcing the decision via a statement posted to her social media channels. The cancellation impacts fans awaiting her appearances at festivals and concerts, and marks the latest in a series of public health challenges for the 22-year-old artist.
Young’s decision follows a recent incident at the All Things Go festival where she fainted onstage, and a prior withdrawal from Audacy’s We Can Survive Concert in Newark due to mental health concerns. Ticket holders are entitled to full refunds, Young stated, expressing deep regret for disappointing her audience and hoping for a second chance after prioritizing her well-being.
“It pains me to say I have to cancel everything for the foreseeable future,” Young wrote. “Thank you for all the love and support.I’m so sorry to let anyone down who has bought a ticket to see me, it hurts me more than you know. Obviously you will be entitled to a full refund. I really hope you’ll give me a second chance once I’ve had some time to work on myself and come back stronger. Love you all,Lola x.”
Young has been open about her struggles with ADHD, schizoaffective disorder, and, most recently, cocaine addiction, for which she received treatment in a 2024 rehab stay. Earlier this year, during her debut performance at Coachella, she vomited onstage, attributing the incident to nerves.
The artist gained prominence through competition shows like Open Mic UK and Got What It Takes? before achieving mainstream success in 2023 with her single ”Messy,” which topped the UK Singles Chart for four weeks. She has released three studio albums, including I’m Only F**king Myself, released in June 2024.
