Fox News Dominates Cable News Ratings in Key Time Slots

Fox News Channel (FNC) secured a commanding lead in cable news viewership across multiple time periods, according to the latest available data. The network consistently outperformed CNN and MSNBC in both total viewers and the coveted demographic during prime time and total day programming.

In the total day category, FNC drew 1.106 million viewers, substantially ahead of CNN’s 353,000 and MSNBC’s 360,000. The prime time hours saw FNC further extend its advantage, attracting 1.474 million viewers compared to CNN’s 479,000 and MSNBC’s 337,000.

Examining specific hours, FNC’s programming consistently captured the largest audiences. As a notable example, at 9 PM, “Gowdy” on FNC garnered 1.576 million viewers, while CNN’s “Live Aid” had 685,000 and MSNBC’s “Leguizamo” attracted 268,000. Similarly, at 4 PM, FNC’s “Scott” program led with 1.132 million viewers, followed by MSNBC’s “Wallace*” with 447,000 and CNN’s “Newsroom/Whitfield” with 356,000.

the trend continued throughout the evening. At 6 PM, FNC’s “Big Weekend” program registered 1.197 million viewers, outpacing CNN’s “Newsroom/Dean” (379,000) and MSNBC’s “Weekend” (424,000). By 7 PM, FNC’s “Big Weekend” saw an increase to 1.471 million viewers, with CNN’s “Newsroom/Dean” at 387,000 and MSNBC’s “Weekend” at 382,000.

In the 8 PM hour, FNC’s “Levin” program drew 1.447 million viewers, while CNN’s “Whole Story” had 423,000 and MSNBC’s “Weekend” garnered 440,000. The 10 PM slot saw FNC’s “Kilmeade” program with 1.398 million viewers, CNN’s “Billionaire” with 328,000, and MSNBC’s “Psaki *” with 303,000.

Even late-night re-airs demonstrated FNC’s strength. At 11 PM, FNC’s “Big Weekend*” attracted 964,000 viewers, significantly more than CNN’s “Whole Story*” (179,000) and MSNBC’s “Weekend*” (220,000).

These figures highlight Fox News Channel’s sustained dominance in the cable news landscape, consistently drawing larger audiences across a variety of programming and time slots.
