Little Nightmares Switch Owners Will Need to repurchase Enhanced Edition for Switch 2

October 3, 2024 – Players⁢ hoping to upgrade their existing Little Nightmares game on Nintendo ⁤Switch to the⁢ upcoming ⁣Enhanced Edition on the Switch 2 will be ⁢required to purchase the game again, Bandai Namco⁢ has confirmed. This decision contrasts with upgrade paths available‌ on other platforms, such as a ⁤free upgrade from⁣ the PS4 version ⁤to the PS5 Enhanced Edition.

According to a recent FAQ published by Bandai Namco, “technical constraints” are preventing an upgrade path for Switch owners. The company explicitly stated: “Due to⁣ technical constraints, owners ⁣of Nintendo Switch consoles ⁤and⁣ Little Nightmares (2017) won’t be able to get ⁢access to Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition. They ⁢will need⁢ to buy again the game on ‌Nintendo Switch 2. As a reminder, Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition is only playable on Nintendo Switch 2 and not Nintendo Switch.”

The Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition is slated ⁤for release on October ⁣10,2025,alongside Little ⁣Nightmares 3.

More details on the‍ Enhanced Edition can be found here ⁤and a ⁣trailer for Little‍ Nightmares 3 is available ‍ here.
