Lil Nas X is undergoing treatment as he faces four felony charges following an arrest last month, his attorney revealed Monday. The rapper pleaded not guilty to charges of battery and resisting a law enforcement officer.
The update came after a court appearance in Los Angeles, where Judge Shellie Samuels modified the conditions of Lil Nas X’s release to allow him to continue receiving inpatient care out of state. Attorney Drew Findling told reporters outside the courthouse, “Obviously, you heard the treatment word.” He emphasized the focus on the artist’s well-being, stating, “We’re doing what is best for Montero from a personal standpoint and a professional standpoint, but most importantly for his well-being.”
Findling continued, “He is surrounded by an amazing family, an amazing team of people that care about him and love him. We’re just addressing those issues. It’s really as simple as that. He’s had a great life, he’ll continue to have a great life. This is a bump that he’s gonna get over.” Details surrounding the nature of the treatment remain undisclosed.
Lil nas X was released from jail after posting $75,000 bail and subsequently addressed fans on Instagram, describing the experience as “fucking terrifying” and assuring them, “Your girl is gonna be OK.” He added, “she’s going to be alright. Shit, that was terrifying. That was a terrifying last four days, but your girl is going to be alright.”
His next court date is scheduled for November 18.
