Levski Pursues Jamaican International Renaldo Ciffus to Bolster Attack
Levski’s management is actively engaged in negotiations with Jamaican international attacker renaldo Ciffus, aiming to strengthen the club’s offensive capabilities. The 25-year-old forward is currently a free agent, having most recently played for Ankaragücü last season. During his tenure with the Turkish club, Ciffus made 32 appearances across all competitions, contributing 11 goals and providing five assists.
The Bulgarian club is familiar with Ciffus’s abilities, having witnessed them firsthand two years ago when he played for Shkupi in the UEFA Europa Conference League. Ciffus has also represented Jamaica internationally, accumulating 21 caps and scoring one goal for his national team.He participated in both matches against Levski during their Conference league encounter, playing all 180 minutes without finding the net. Ciffus was also part of Jamaica’s squad for the recent Gold Cup, featuring in all three group stage matches. Despite his participation, the “Reggae Boyz” were eliminated after a victory against Guadeloupe and losses to Guatemala and Panama.
Ciffus’s career also includes spells with Jamaican club Arnett Gardens. levski’s coach, Julio Velazquez, is keen to reinforce the attacking department due to a perceived lack of confidence in current options Mustafa Sangare and Borislav Rupanov. In Levski’s first official match, the team even deployed a “false nine” system with Everton Bala, a strategy that may be repeated for the upcoming rematch.
Another potential addition to Levski’s attack is a Brazilian striker, who is being scouted by Krasimir Petrov. Petrov has previously brought Rildo to the club from Portuguese side Santa Clara, and the Brazilian is currently training with Levski.
