by Alex Carter - Sports Editor

Lehigh University’s newly established women’s wrestling program was the focus of a recent episode of “Mountain Hawk Talk,” a podcast hosted by journalism students CJ Abell and Jasuah Philemon. The February 19th episode featured interviews with Abbi Cooper, a 117-pound wrestler and Kryssceah Ravenelle, competing in the 138-pound weight class, discussing the program’s launch and its developing culture.

The podcast appearance comes as Lehigh Women’s Wrestling navigates its inaugural season as a Division I program. Cooper and Ravenelle detailed the team’s efforts to build a strong foundation, emphasizing the mindset driving their performance. The team currently holds a 14-1 dual meet record, following a split tri-meet at Iowa on January 19th, where they defeated Otterbein 32-11 but lost to the University of Iowa 37-7.

Against Otterbein, Lehigh secured victories through multiple falls, with Audrey Jimenez (110), Aubre Krazer (131), Cameron Millsapps (160), and Genevieve An (207) all achieving pins. Cooper and Ravenelle also contributed to the win with technical falls. Krazer and Jimenez remain undefeated on the season.

According to the Lehigh Athletics roster, Cooper is a freshman with a record of 20-1, while Ravenelle, a sophomore, has a record of 12-5. Other notable wrestlers include Audrey Jimenez, currently ranked #1 in the 110-pound weight class with a 9-0 record, and Aubre Krazer, ranked #2 in the 131-pound class with a 17-0 record. Genevieve An, competing in the 180-pound class, holds a record of 19-7.

The launch of the Lehigh Women’s Wrestling program has been documented through various media, including a press conference in October and a season preview released in late October 2025. The program’s progress is regularly updated on Lehighsports.com and the team’s Instagram account, @lehigh_sports.
