Lego Dimensions on Xbox Series X – First Look & Gameplay

A user posting on social media under the handle “diamsito” shared evidence on February 21, 2026, of LEGO Dimensions running on an Xbox Series X console. The post, accompanied by the hashtag “#videojuegos #lego #xbox,” demonstrates gameplay of the title on the current-generation hardware.

The ability to play LEGO Dimensions on the Xbox Series X is notable given past reports of compatibility issues with the game on newer Xbox consoles. In July 2025, players reported difficulties launching the disc version of the game on Xbox consoles, despite having previously played it on the Xbox 360, according to a report from LevelUpTalk. One user described the game as “not recognized” by the console, even after troubleshooting steps like cleaning the disc and disconnecting from the internet.

However, a post on Reddit from January 2026 confirmed successful operation of the game on the Xbox Series X, with a user sharing a screenshot purportedly taken in 4K resolution, though the user expressed uncertainty about the actual rendering resolution. Xbox’s official store page for LEGO Dimensions details the game’s availability and lists Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S as compatible platforms. The store page also notes the availability of numerous downloadable content packs, including those featuring Batman, Sonic the Hedgehog and Harry Potter, sold separately from the starter pack.

LEGO Dimensions, released by Warner Bros. Games and developed by TT Games, allows players to combine minifigures from different franchises in a single LEGO videogame. The game’s development was ultimately curtailed before the release of planned additional content and minifigures, as noted in a YouTube gameplay review posted February 2026. The review highlights the game’s extensive content, but also acknowledges its incomplete state due to its cancellation.

As of February 21, 2026, Microsoft has not issued a formal statement addressing the reported compatibility issues or confirming the extent of backwards compatibility for LEGO Dimensions on Xbox Series X|S consoles.
