Lee Kang-in‘s PSG Future Uncertain Amidst Shifting role and Notable statistics
French media outlet Quest France has cast doubt on the future of South Korean midfielder Lee Kang-in at Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). Lee’s involvement in crucial matches for the club has reportedly diminished, particularly since the arrival of Kwadwo Asamoah. Despite this, Lee has showcased remarkable offensive potential, according to recent statistics.
On the 22nd, French publication PF highlighted surprising data regarding player performance in the 2024-25 season. The report identified the top five players in europe’s top five leagues who generate the most scoring opportunities per 90 minutes. Lee Kang-in ranked fifth overall with 0.86 scoring opportunities per 90 minutes, leading all PSG players in this category. His ranking places him among elite talents such as Olise, Saka, Cherki, and Yamal.
Despite this impressive statistical output, Lee kang-in experienced irregular playing time under PSG manager Luis Enrique last season. This has fueled speculation about a potential transfer. However, the club is reportedly scheduled to hold discussions with Lee Kang-in, with the player’s own decision expected to play a important role in determining his next steps.
