Lebanon Man Pleads Guilty to Murder of Pregnant Estranged Wife and Infant Son

Lebanon Man Pleads Guilty to Murder of Pregnant Estranged Wife and Infant Son

November 4, 2026 Dr. Michael Lee – Health Editor Health

Sidney Fredrick Wilson V pleaded guilty in Laclede County Circuit Court to two counts of first-degree murder for the fatal shooting of his pregnant estranged wife and their newborn infant son, ky3.com reported. A circuit judge scheduled Wilson’s formal sentencing hearing for Dec. 14 at 1 p.m.

The guilty plea avoids a trial that had been set for Dec. 15, according to ozarksfirst.com. Wilson accepted a plea deal on Sept. 8, 2026, which resulted in the dismissal of two additional charges of armed criminal action.

Late-Night Shooting on North Adams Avenue

The charges stem from a late-night domestic shooting on June 5, 2025. According to ky3.com, officers with the Lebanon police department were dispatched to a home situated in the 700 block of North Adams Avenue at roughly 11:37 p.m. following reports of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers found 21-year-old Reagan Lynn Wilson suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Transported rapidly to a nearby hospital, Reagan Wilson—pregnant at the time—succumbed to her wounds shortly after arriving. Her newborn son, Silas, was delivered by emergency medical staff and managed to stay alive on critical life support until succumbing to his injuries on June 13, 2025.

Family members and investigators verified that although Sidney Wilson and Reagan Wilson were legally married, they were residing separately at the time of the shooting. Reagan had allegedly left Sidney in December of 2024, ozarksfirst.com reported.

Police Arrest Suspect After Doorbell Camera Captures Gunshots

Weeks passed without any charges filed in the case before police arrested Sidney Wilson at a residence in Nixa on Thursday, July 31, 2025. A probable cause statement noted that a doorbell camera near the crime scene captured the sounds of gunshots occurring in a six-second timeframe.

An investigator wrote in the statement that the volume of shots fired toward one person indicated the suspect typically knew the victim personally. Police obtained video footage from a nearby residence showing a man wearing a camouflage hoodie, a face covering, and gloves. Recognizing Sidney’s gait, a Laclede County Sheriff’s Office deputy acquainted with him informed detectives that he believed the individual captured on the footage was Sidney.

Authorities matched the surveillance footage against a video taken at a Goodwill store Sidney had recently visited, determining that the walking styles in both clips closely matched. During an interview on June 7, Sidney told investigators he had previously owned a firearm but claimed he sold it to an unknown man in April during an hour-long conversation while eating.

Surveillance footage from that meeting showed Sidney ordering food and leaving shortly after without sitting down or communicating with anyone other than employees. Ballistics testing subsequently concluded that the bullets found at the crime scene matched the firearm category owned by Sidney.

Investigators also noted inconsistencies in Sidney’s account of his whereabouts. During a second interview on June 12, Sidney consented to a search of his cell phone. Review of his GPS records revealed that he departed his residence at approximately 10:30 p.m. on June 5, driving eastward on Interstate 44 toward Lebanon until his tracking information abruptly ceased.

Authorities noted that while Sidney was at the hospital after the shooting, he never asked about Reagan’s condition or the status of the investigation, asking only when he could get his vehicle back.

Upcoming Sentencing in Laclede County

Conviction for first-degree murder under Missouri statutes mandates a sentence of either the death penalty or life imprisonment with no eligibility for probation or parole. Wilson remains in custody at the Laclede County Jail without bond pending his December sentencing date.
