Launching a Tech Startup in the US | French Artists at Frieze Week LA

February 26, 2026 Lucas Fernandez – World Editor World

Los Angeles will host Tech Week 2026, bringing together founders, companies, and venture capital firms, with events scheduled across the city from October 5-11, according to a16z, the event’s presenter.

The event, a decentralized tech conference, will feature hundreds of independently organized events ranging from hackathons to panel discussions and community meetups. Event submissions are currently open, with organizers encouraged to propose creative formats like panels, happy hours, and experiential events. A16z will review submissions for approval.

Tech Week 2026 will be held in multiple locations, including Boston (May 26-31), Fresh York (June 1-7), and Los Angeles (October 5-11). The Los Angeles iteration follows a 2025 event also presented by a16z, held October 13-19, which focused on connecting innovators, founders, and investors, and explored emerging technologies like AI and fintech.

Confirmed speakers for past Tech Week events include Marc Andreessen, cofounder and general partner at a16z. Ben Horowitz, cofounder and general partner at a16z; Shuo Wang, co-founder of Deel; Spencer Rascoff, CEO of Match Group; and Guillermo Rauch, CEO and founder of Vercel. A fireside chat with Sam Shank, founder of HotelTonight, was also featured in a previous Los Angeles event.

Several events are already trending for the Los Angeles Tech Week, including a panel discussion on the Future of Space & Security, a brunch for female founders and venture capitalists, and a penthouse afterparty hosted by Tech[Space]. A speedrun investor lunch mixer, co-hosted by Powerhouse Capital and a16z, is also scheduled.

L.A. Tech Events, curated by Nerdstage and supported by RASTRO STUDIO, is also hosting a series of events in the lead-up to and during Tech Week, including “NachoTuesday” happy hours for SaaS and AI founders and investors, and “Startup Cafe” sessions featuring founders and industry experts. These events are held in Santa Monica and at The KINN in Los Angeles.

Frieze Los Angeles, a contemporary art fair, will also be taking place in Los Angeles, celebrating the city’s contributions to the visual arts.
