Launched Across Punjab: Cashless Payment Systems for Public Transport

July 26, 2026 Emma Walker – News Editor News

Punjab has launched a cashless payment system for public transport, introducing the eTransit App and the T-Cash Card to eliminate traditional paper tokens and legacy cards across major transit networks.

Transition to the eTransit App and T-Cash Card

The newly introduced digital fare infrastructure replaces legacy ticketing methods with the eTransit App and the rechargeable T-Cash Card. As detailed by Abb Takk News, the digital payment overhaul applies to both Metro and electric bus services across the region. Commuters can no longer purchase paper tokens or load older transit cards at station counters, marking a complete shift toward contactless fare collection on Lahore’s primary mass transit routes.
