sapporo Transforms into Futuristic Hub for 10th Annual NOMAPS Festival
Sapporo, Japan – The city of Sapporo is poised to become a vibrant showcase of future innovation as the 10th annual NOMAPS festival unfolds from september 13th to 17th, 2025. This five-day urban festival, spanning the entirety of Sapporo’s streets, will offer attendees a diverse range of experiences centered around artificial intelligence, food technology, future business models, and advancements in welfare – marking a significant evolution for the event.
NOMAPS,originally launched as a YouTube original content series in June 2023 focused on company karaoke,has blossomed into a major cultural event attracting a broad audience. the festival’s expansion reflects a growing interest in exploring the potential of emerging technologies and their impact on daily life,offering a platform for thought,connection,and enjoyment. This year’s iteration builds upon a decade of showcasing forward-thinking concepts, aiming to inspire attendees to actively engage with the future.
A key highlight will be the “Companies against Karaoke Championship,” featuring appearances by Tamabukuros Gitaro,chairman of the Japan Snack Federation,celebrity Pierre Taki of Electric Groove,and hosted by Oshima Yukari of Frenings. The championship will be held on September 13th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Cocono Susukino 3F indoor Plaza Stage.
Beyond entertainment, NOMAPS2025 will introduce “SAPPORO CULTURE FARM / Concave ANABA,” a new urban cultural farm combining agriculture and art, opening on September 13th at the Sapporo and Hokkaido Building. The farm will feature urban farming experiences, art exhibitions, a multipurpose stage, and a grass plaza, alongside popup stores from Napoli Pizza (utilizing swamp ranch Paard Musée ingredients) and Tokyo’s Higuma Doughnuts.
The festival will also host “NOMAPS MEEEEEEEET !!”, the official meetup event, on September 14th at 2:00 PM at Higashi City 27 Higashi 15 Superme 1-1.Tickets for this event are priced at 3,000 yen for general admission and 1,500 yen for students.
