Laeticia Hallyday and Joy Honor Johnny Hallyday’s Memory at Grave

Saint-Barthélemy,​ December 6, 2024 -⁢ Laeticia Hallyday ⁢and​ her daughter Joy were among family and fans gathered at Johnny ​Hallyday’s grave in Saint-Barthélemy today, marking eight years since the French rock icon’s death. The gravesite was adorned⁣ with candles⁣ and white flowers as mourners remembered ⁢Hallyday with music ⁢and personal tributes.

Mother and daughter embraced ‍as they connected with fellow Johnny fans ‌present on the island, listening too his hits ⁣including “Diego, libre dans sa tête” and ⁤”I promise‍ you.” Laeticia‍ Hallyday earlier ⁤honored​ her late husband on Instagram, sharing a video​ of him dancing and writing, “Eight years already… and yet, ‌you are‍ everywhere. I found this‌ video ​of you… you in ⁣your⁢ sweet madness, your humor, your freedom, your burst of laughter‍ so contagious. This moment is everything⁤ you were, alive, ⁢vibrant, funny, unpredictable,​ overwhelming.”

she continued, “Eight years since ‌you left.And not a day goes by ⁤without your absence slipping into our lives. But we‍ soothe​ this lack one step at a⁤ time by keeping your light alive, ‌by sharing ​your ​image, your​ voice, your⁤ unique energy.​ This video ​is for you. To ⁤tell you that we continue to love you madly. So that the whole world never forgets the magic that ⁣you were. So ‍that through our memories, you are still here, ‍more alive then ever. We love ‍you forever. We miss‌ you for eternity.”

Johnny Hallyday’s daughters, Jade and Joy, also posted tributes​ on Instagram, sharing photos of⁣ thier ⁤father. ‌Jade wrote, “Even though you‌ are ​no longer physically ‍with us, I feel your presence, your love and your kindness watching over ⁤us every day… I couldn’t be more proud to be your daughter.” Joy simply saluted her father as her “hero,” ‌”idol,” “strength,” ‍and “everything.”

Laura Smet, Hallyday’s daughter, shared black and⁢ white photos, including ‌one ⁣with ‍Michel Berger, and noted the release of the 40th edition⁣ of “Rock’n’roll attitude,” a song she ‍said⁤ he had​ dedicated to her. “Eight years today. But a presence for life,”⁣ she ⁣wrote. “Thank you to his signs which ⁤soothe.”
