Lady Gaga delivered a stripped-down performance of her dance-pop hit “Vanish Into You” on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on September 8,just days after a show-stopping set at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards. The performance showcased a more intimate side of the artist,featuring Gaga on piano accompanied by a guitar duo.Gaga’s appearance on Colbert follows a triumphant night at the VMAs, where she earned 12 nominations and took home awards for Artist of the Year, Best Collaboration (“Die With a Smile” with Bruno Mars), Best Direction, and Best Art Direction (“Abracadabra”). Despite these wins, ariana Grande’s “Brighter Days Ahead” claimed the coveted Video of the Year title. Gaga performed both “Abracadabra” and “The Dead Dance” – the latter written for the Netflix series Wednesday – during the VMAs broadcast.
The performance of “Vanish Into You” comes as Gaga supports her latest album, Mayhem, released after a five-year recording hiatus. Currently on a North American tour, she is scheduled to extend the Mayhem tour to Europe and Australia through the end of the year. mayhem has been recognized as one of the best albums of 2025 to date.
