Ukrainian Delegation to Meet with Senators Rubio and Witkoff in U.S. Amidst Drone Attack Aftermath
A Russian drone and missile attack on Kyiv overnight from Friday to Saturday resulted in at least one confirmed death and seven injuries, Ukrainian authorities reported. The attack caused important damage to residential buildings and infrastructure across multiple districts of the capital.
Tymur Tkatchenko, head of the Kyiv military administration, announced on Telegram that one person was killed in the attack, believed to be a man. He provided a preliminary assessment of one death and seven injuries, including a child.
Authorities described the attack as a “cynical terrorist attack by the Russian Federation,” targeting nine locations in five districts of Kyiv. Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that a 13-year-old boy was among those injured and urged residents to seek shelter, noting the attacks continued around 3 a.m. local time.
Damage assessments indicate several residential buildings were impacted, including structures of 25 and 14 floors, as well as individual homes and vehicles, according to klitschko and Tkatchenko.
In the town of Brovary,near Kyiv,Mykola Kalashnyk,head of the Kyiv Oblast military administration,reported two women were injured in the “enemy attack with drones and missiles.” Local authorities in Brovary indicated three people were injured.
Amidst the ongoing conflict,a Ukrainian delegation is scheduled to meet with U.S. senators Marco rubio and Steve Witkoff on Sunday to discuss the situation and seek continued support.
