Christopher Sima has been appointed the modern CEO of Krone Multimedia GmbH & Co KG (KMM), the digital arm of the Austrian Kronen Zeitung newspaper, effective immediately. He succeeds Michael Eder in the role and will, alongside Chief Financial Officer Wolfgang Kollmann, oversee all digital operations of the publication, including the leading Austrian news portal krone.at.
Sima has been with Krone Multimedia since December 2019, previously serving as Head of Operations. During his tenure, he focused on improving service and consultation quality for agencies and direct clients of krone.at, and launched new products in data-driven advertising, programmatic advertising inventory marketing, and market research, according to a company statement.
Prior to joining Krone Multimedia, Sima held the position of Managing Director at oe24 for two years. His career spans over two decades in leadership positions within the Austrian online industry, contributing significantly to its development, the company said.
Krone Multimedia, established in 1998, is responsible for the multimedia presence of Krone Verlag. The company operates krone.at, krone.tv, and numerous interactive platforms optimized for smartphones, tablets, and other mobile devices. It also produces TV content, including the Spiegel-TV documentary series on Puls 4.
Sima stated that a key focus of his leadership will be expanding the depth of information and news coverage offered by krone.at, “especially in these challenging times,” to provide stronger orientation for readers. He intends to build upon the company’s existing leadership position with a team of highly qualified professionals.
Manuel Rostorfer has been appointed as the new Chief Operating Officer (COO) and will support Sima in the operational business. Rostorfer, who has been with KMM for ten years – most recently as Head of Business Development – has been granted procuration at Krone Multimedia GmbH & Co KG.
