Astronomer Executive Files for Divorce Following Concert Cheating Scandal
Kristin Cabot, recently resigned chief People Officer of data and AI startup Astronomer, has filed for divorce following public revelations of an affair with a colleague at a Coldplay concert. The fallout from the incident, which unfolded during a “Kiss Cam” moment captured on video, led to both Cabot and Astronomer CEO Bryan byron stepping down from their positions.
The scandal erupted after video footage circulated online showing Byron kissing another woman during the concert, quickly identified as Cabot.the ensuing public backlash included attempts to uncover and disseminate personal information about their families. While both Byron and Cabot have remained publicly silent about the nature of their relationship since the concert, Cabot’s divorce filing confirms the personal consequences of the widely publicized event.
Interim Astronomer CEO Pete Dejoy acknowledged the incident in a statement last month, emphasizing the company’s commitment to moving forward despite the unprecedented media attention. “Events in the last few days have received the attention of the media at a rarely experienced by the company let alone startups in the world of data and AI like us,” Dejoy said.
Byron announced his resignation on July 19, followed by Cabot’s resignation days later. The incident marks a significant disruption for Astronomer, a rising company in the competitive data and AI landscape. The divorce proceedings are expected to further draw scrutiny to the personal lives of those involved and the impact of the scandal on the company’s leadership.
