Kristian Valen, one of Norway’s most prominent comedians, is releasing a new autobiography detailing a life encompassing both stardom and personal struggles, including “breakdowns, police raids and suicidal thoughts.” The book, penned with author Per Asle Rustad, promises an “unfiltered” account of Valen’s journey from a challenging upbringing in Stavanger to achieving success in the Hollywood Hills.
Valen’s career has spanned decades, shaping Norwegian entertainment with his signature parodies and widespread television and stage presence. The forthcoming book offers a rare, intimate look behind the public persona, exploring the costs of fame and the battles fought in private. Publisher descriptions indicate Valen will share details of his life ”for the first time,” offering insight into previously undisclosed experiences.
Rustad, the book’s author, brings a background in investigative journalism to the project, having previously served as a crime reporter for TV 2 and a presenter of crime programs on TVNorge.
According to the publisher, the autobiography covers Valen’s life “from a tough upbringing in Stavanger to stardom and luxury living in the Hollywood Hills.”
