Wieczysta Kraków Parts Ways with Coach Przemysław Cecherz, Eyes Dan Petrescu as Replacement
Kraków, Poland – November 12, 2023 – Wieczysta Kraków announced today the departure of head coach Przemysław Cecherz, effective instantly. The decision comes following a recent defeat to Odra, though the club emphasized Cecherz’s prior successes in a formal statement. Wieczysta currently holds the second position in the Betclic 1.League, remaining a strong contender for promotion to the Premier League.
Cecherz initially took the helm on May 1, 2023, guiding the team through a accomplished playoff run for promotion to the first league. During his tenure this season, he led Wieczysta in 12 matches, securing 22 points. This marks his second stint with the club, having previously coached the team from 2019-2021.
“Przemysław cecherz has finished his work as a trainer today at Wieczysta Kraków,” the club stated in an official announcement. “Thank you for your commitment and contribution to the team’s functioning. We wish you good luck and further success in the coaching work.”
Speculation is already mounting regarding a replacement, with reports from PAP suggesting Dan Petrescu, a former coach of rivals Wisła Kraków, is a leading candidate. TVP Sport’s Bartosz wieczorek also indicated that Czesław Michniewicz and Kazimierz Moskal are potential contenders.
Wieczysta Kraków will return to action after the international break with a match against GKS Tychy.
