KRAFTON and ReLU Games release Off the Rails update for Mimesis
KRAFTON and ReLU Games released the “Off the Rails” major update for the cooperative horror game Mimesis on Steam, marking the one-year anniversary of the title’s early access launch.
Sharpened Deception and New Paranoia Systems
Mimesis challenges four-player cooperative teams to root out an AI-driven monster capable of mimicking their appearance, movements, and voices.
The anniversary update expands on this deception by sharpening the monster’s ability to monitor player habits and environmental interactions, making it harder to detect during chaotic moments. ReLU Games introduced a paranoia system tied to player contamination levels. Higher contamination triggers hallucinations, causing players to see phantom Mimesis entities or hear isolated audio cues that their teammates cannot perceive. These effects heighten tension and fracture team trust by blurring the line between actual threats and psychological strain.
Easy Exploration on the Cinematic Studio Map
The update introduces a new cinematic studio map featuring a continuous environment that blends indoor and exterior spaces without traditional loading transitions.
Players arrive via an unexpected tram crash landing, opening an exploratory route alongside new scrap materials, service stations, inventory management gear, and traps. ReLU Games also redesigned the user interface and added interactive anniversary features that let players generate customized survival reports from their gameplay logs alongside a commemorative cosmetic item.
Steam Discount Reaches 60 Percent for Halloween Event
Mimesis is currently running a 60% discount on Steam as part of the Scream V Halloween event, which runs through November 3.

The promotion marks the deepest price cut for the game since its launch. Pre-orders for physical merchandise opened October 27 through EBTEN, an anime and gaming merchandise storefront linked to KADOSUTO.
Award-Winning Momentum on Steam
In June, Mimesis surpassed two million copies sold worldwide and became the first Korean title to win the Game Design Excellence Award at the 2026 CEDEC Awards in Japan.
